Beatty Attending Museum of the Moving Image Salute Tonight, Deadline's The Contenders on Saturday

With his first directorial effort in nearly two decades set for release this month, Warren Beatty is set to be a busy man during this year's awards season. Tonight, New York's Museum of the Moving Image will pay tribute to his extraordinary career in its 30th annual Salute. The evening will include cocktails, dinner and an awards celebration, with clips of Beatty's career introduced by friends and colleagues. According to Ivan L. Lustig, who serves with Michael Barker as the museum's Co-Chairmen, the Salute will raise money for the museum's education programs, which serve over 60,000 students per year.

On Saturday, November 5th, Beatty will be one of many esteemed guests at Deadline's The Contenders award season event in Hollywood. Produced by Pete and Madelyn Hammond, the event will feature a record number of studios and distributors (21 in total) participating in presentations with the hope of launching Oscar buzz for their latest slate of pictures. In addition to Beatty, other guests this year will include Jeff Bridges ("Hell or High Water") Jessica Chastain ("Miss Sloane"), Damien Chazelle ("La La Land"), Laura Dern ("The Founder"), Mel Gibson ("Hacksaw Ridge"), Jeff Nichols ("Loving"), Hailee Steinfeld ("The Edge of Seventeen"), Denzel Washington ("Fences") and the cast of "Moonlight."

Beatty has been nominated for 15 Academy Awards, and won the Best Director Oscar for 1981's "Reds." His acclaimed films include "Splendor in the Grass," "Bonnie and Clyde," "McCabe & Mrs. Miller," "Shampoo," "Heaven Can Wait," "Dick Tracy," "Bugsy" and "Bulworth." His latest film, "Rules Don't Apply," opens in theaters on November 23rd.

The Museum of the Moving Image Salute to Warren Beatty takes place tonight at 583 Park Ave. in New York. Deadline's The Contenders will occur at the DGA Theater in West Hollywood on Saturday.
