The History of James Bond

Who is the most iconic action leading man in history? Bond, James Bond. As the history of James Bond extends into a new decade with 2020’s “No Time to Die,” we thought it a good time to revisit the site’s reviews of the films about the world’s most famous man with a license to kill. Now, this is not a comprehensive look at the history of James Bond because it appears that Roger Ebert did not review all of the 007 films, especially early in his career, when that meant a Sean Connery or Roger Moore movie. Although, starting with Timothy Dalton and continuing through Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, all of the history of James Bond is included in the review collection below, ordered from most recent back to a film that Roger considered such an American classic that he put it in the Great Movies collection, “Goldfinger.”
